CUBA - Post Castro Era, Pandemic, and a New Cold War

  • Montclair Public Library 50 South Fullerton Avenue Montclair, NJ, 07042 United States (map)

This talk addresses the possible political realignment of the Caribbean as the region responds to new geostrategic concerns, a post-pandemic world, and climate change. The American embargo on Cuba and the thawing of their relationship; Chinese investment and encroachment in the area, Puerto Rico and the crisis generation and its possible future with the United States, are some of the issues we will discuss within the context of a global realignment and a new cold war and how the region is both impacted by and responding to these issues.
