Día de los Muertos Community Altar
Recordar es mantenerlos vivos. To remember is to keep them alive.
This Día de los Muertos, Latinos of Montclair invites the whole community to remember and celebrate our loved ones at a public ofrenda at Lackawanna Station. Artists Adrián Viajero Román and Matthew Marroquin are building the altar, which will be open to everyone from October 30 through November 2. Bring a photo, a memory, or a marigold, and add your loved one to the altar.
We’ll open the altar together at a free, family-friendly ceremony on Friday, October 30, with live mariachi, a Día de los Muertos storytime for kids, and arts and crafts.
