About the Author

Paola Mendoza is a celebrated author, filmmaker, and activist. Her novel Sanctuary (co-written with Abby Sher) imagines a near-future America where immigrant families fight for survival and dignity. She has long used art as a tool for justice, inspiring communities nationwide to take action.
