Join us for a look at how Bad Bunny transforms global pop culture into a voice for Puerto Rico’s history, resistance, and diaspora.

Latinos of Montclair & Boricuas Unidos en la Diáspora host - in partnership with the Office of Hispanic Intiatives at Montclair State University and the Puerto Rican Student Organization - a layered exploration of how Bad Bunny has used global pop culture to amplify Puerto Rico’s colonial realities, resistance movements, and diasporic identity - all of which will take center stage at Super Bowl LX.

Moderated by Calvin Yohannan from BORICUAS UNIDOS EN LA DIÁSPORA, featuring Ed Morales acclaimed author, journalist, and Columbia University professor, Michael Collazo NJ resident and organizer of PHILLY BORICUAS, and Maricelly Malave from CULTURA PA'LANTE. The evening examines:

  • Music as political text

  • Pop culture’s collision with colonial history

  • Why Bad Bunny’s voice resonates across generations and geographies

  • What this moment means as we approach Super Bowl LX
